Where did April go?

I'm starting to believe that April got carried away with finals and all those papers. So now I'm rushing to update this blog while May is still around.

Many and few things happened. Depends on how you look at them. The best part is that I get to see the sunrise every morning on my way to work, and what great shows I get, with sheep-look-alike clouds and golden rays and a good number of down-to-earth tall trees that whisper their leaves in the morning light...

I think it's summer.

Sleepy weather

It's been raining for a couple days now in Pittsburgh.
Nothing surprising, for two reasons: it's that time of the year and - folks - it is Pittsburgh.

Other than that, not too much. Busy as usual, so it's nothing to be writing here about. Reading news and working on projects.

Planner – where is my planner?

It’s hard to remember what and when and where without it anymore. I had never dreamed I could be so busy that I definitely needed to jot down meetings and classes and interview and flight times and…
But the best news of all is that I went to New York. Last Thursday. Flying in the evening, hotel, NYSE and Bloomberg visits on Friday, alumni networking event (that I wasn’t very sure I would get to attend, but I did – for about 20 minutes), meeting a friend and having dinner at a Romanian restaurant, watch the city from the windy top of the Empire State Building, another night at the hotel, then back on Saturday afternoon and in Pittsburgh by Saturday midnight. Vacation trip – after the spring break. Who cares? It’s New York, baby…

A shot of spring

The sun has a different light, the air - a different quality. It's still below freezing, but spring is definitely on its way. I can feel it in my dreams, in my thoughts, in my renewed energy. I found myself staring into thin air and dreaming about anything that crossed my mind on the bus today. Got off a little dizzy of too much imagination unleashed.

It's clear: spring is coming. Open your hearts to the sun.

The groundhog

... or the biggest sweet liar. Well, last year he wasn't that sweet. But that's a story for long winters, and now spring is coming. Right? The groundhog saw its shadow... so they say another six weeks of winter are on their way... but I say it's going to be exactly the opposite of that, since last year the "big squirrel" announced an early spring and we had the coldest month of the winter afterwards.

Let's put the big warm clothes away, spring is on its way!

Rambling

I figured I should put an end to those Tuesday-only updates, don't know why I waited a week to post something here.

I've been working insanely yesterday, but I got things done and that feels awfully good. I'm making bread at home so I can have the good Romanian-style bread with five ingredients: flour, water, yeast, salt and a little olive oil. And I've made a rule about washing the dishes before they pile up, so any time I pass by the sink and there's something in it, I make a point of cleaning it.

Multitasking is at a very high stake right now. Happy that I can do it.

Laughing

It’s good when you have people to joke with, around you. I like laughing, and I’m slowly getting it back. It’s interesting how sometimes, in the middle of all stress – especially when you have a lot of things on your to-do list – one can find the most laughter. I’ll use the line Suzanne (from the Carnegie Libraries) has, on her online-reading e-mails – she says, “It’s good to read with friends”.

I say: it’s good to laugh with friends.
