Rambling

I figured I should put an end to those Tuesday-only updates, don't know why I waited a week to post something here.

I've been working insanely yesterday, but I got things done and that feels awfully good. I'm making bread at home so I can have the good Romanian-style bread with five ingredients: flour, water, yeast, salt and a little olive oil. And I've made a rule about washing the dishes before they pile up, so any time I pass by the sink and there's something in it, I make a point of cleaning it.

Multitasking is at a very high stake right now. Happy that I can do it.

Laughing

It’s good when you have people to joke with, around you. I like laughing, and I’m slowly getting it back. It’s interesting how sometimes, in the middle of all stress – especially when you have a lot of things on your to-do list – one can find the most laughter. I’ll use the line Suzanne (from the Carnegie Libraries) has, on her online-reading e-mails – she says, “It’s good to read with friends”.

I say: it’s good to laugh with friends.

No-nonsense

On New Year's night, while watching the wonderful fireworks in Sighisoara and drinking strawberry-flavored (good!!!) champagne from a glass I was going to break not even three minutes later for bad-luck-gone-good-luck-to-come, I was making promises to myself. For a change.

No nonsense. That's how this year should be. Not too many useless words, not waste-of-time phone calls to people that don't ever call back, and so on. Family and career, in balance, but no nonsense will find its way between.

Now I feel like a warrior watching the beautiful view opening in front of her as she is sitting on a horse on top of a hill. Is there a citadel to defend?
